JFSD Spark Interactive Mobile Museum

The Spark Interactive Mobile Museum, created by the Legacy of Light Goldberg Institute for Holocaust Education, a signature initiative of the Jewish Federation of San Diego (JFSD), reimagines how Holocaust education can reach the next generation. Designed to travel directly to schools and communities throughout San Diego County, the mobile museum combines digital artifacts, interactive storytelling, and guided facilitation to help students understand the Holocaust while connecting its lessons to misinformation, bias, empathy, and ethical responsibility.

Working alongside Electrosonic, DETAILED® helped bring this immersive educational environment to life with advanced direct-view LED technology. The installation incorporates DTLD 0.9mm MIP LED displays, delivering exceptional detail and clarity for close-range viewing, alongside durable 2.5mm GOB LED displays engineered to support the demands of an interactive, mobile environment.

Integrating high-resolution LED technology within a traveling museum presented a unique opportunity to transform a compact space into an engaging digital experience. The displays provide a seamless visual platform for historical imagery, educational media, and interactive content while supporting the flexibility and reliability required for an exhibit designed to travel from one community to the next.

Through the collaboration between JFSD, Electrosonic, and the broader project team, Spark Interactive demonstrates how thoughtfully integrated display technology can expand the reach of museum experiences—bringing important stories beyond traditional museum walls and directly to the audiences they are designed to impact.
