1. Baylor University
One of the most striking examples of creative LED display use can be seen at Baylor University’s Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center. Baylor University
stands as a beacon of academic excellence and community, welcoming approximately 60,000 guests annually. In its quest to make a lasting
first impression, Baylor University envisioned an innovative approach to greet new students and guests. The goal was to create a visually stunning and immersive environment that would encapsulate the spirit and promise of the Baylor experience. To achieve this, the university sought to integrate unique geometric displays within the Welcome Center, aiming to provide a grand
and memorable welcome. In Partnership with Electrosonic, DetaiLED™ created a unique, custom spiral, 360º LED room, and mounted dome to meet the project objective.
2. Hudson Yards
This enhanced office at Hudson Yards includes the installation of a double-sided touchscreen, seamlessly blending cutting-edge technology and design for a more interactive and dynamic workspace. This cutting-edge installation enhances the workspace’s functionality and aesthetic, providing an interactive, dynamic tool for presentations, collaborative sessions, and digital signage.
This multi-pitch display serves as a central feature for clients, guests, and employees, while its interior functions as a fully-equipped conference room for large presentations with essential capabilities. With this installation, DetaiLED™ created a versatile and visually impactful space that elevates the overall experience for everyone who interacts with it.
3. Audubon Nature Institute
DetaiLED™ was tasked with the installation of a custom angled display in the open atrium of a museum, overlooking the Mississippi River. This 28 ft., 3.9mm indoor display, mounted at heights ranging from 16 to 45 feet above ground level, posed unique challenges due to its location and the open space concept. Known for tackling odd angles and shapes, DetaiLED™ rose to the occasion by designing a thin, lightweight display that fit seamlessly within the museum’s existing structure.
The installation required special certifications for aerial lifts and the use of a snorkel lift to reach the designated height. Additionally, the atrium’s high ambient lighting conditions necessitated precise adjustments to avoid a washed-out effect, ensuring the display maintained its brilliant colors and high contrast. The final product, weighing 2,500 lbs, was carefully engineered and installed to
maintain structural integrity and deliver an exceptional visual experience.
4. Carnival Mardi Gras
Carnival Cruises is a brand that is synonymous with “fun.” The DetaiLED™ team was tasked with transforming a ship’s large atrium into a multifunctional venue while preserving its stunning ocean views. Our engineers developed a system of moving screens that can be stored in the atrium stage when not in use.
During the day, the atrium’s floor-to-ceiling windows offer beautiful sunlight and ocean views. For special events and shows, the screens can cover the windows to display stunning backdrops and themes, working independently
or in sync for a variety of entertainment options. The project, completed on July 31st, 2021, was a resounding success, turning the atrium into a grand auditorium at night with a fully functional largescale LED display wall. This innovation earned DetaiLED™ the 2022 Digital Signage Award for Best Entertainment Venue.
5. CBS Sports Studio
In collaboration with FUSE Technical Group, DetaiLED™ was tasked with overseeing the installation of advanced LED displays for a new interactive broadcast studio developed for CBS Sports Interactive. The project, designed to meet the demands of the streaming market, required a significant volume of fine-pitch and custom-curved displays. Challenges included mitigating flicker, ensuring consistent contrast, and maintaining high resolution, all of which are crucial for broadcast-quality displays. Curved LED screens added another layer of complexity, requiring meticulous attention to pixel uniformity, manufacturing precision, calibration, and content mapping. DetaiLED™ successfully ensured consistent image quality across various viewing angles, essential for the dynamic nature of large studio environments.
6. Alight Solutions
In Chicago’s Downtown East Side, near Millennium Park and the harbor, Alight Solutions stands as a beacon of innovation, featuring a pioneering visual experience meticulously crafted by DetaiLED™ in collaboration with Electrosonic.
This project showcases the seamless integration of cutting-edge technology and architectural finesse, culminating in a custom, fine-pitch, large-scale LED structure that captivates and inspires. The centerpiece is a state-of-the-art 1.8mm LED display, selected for its superior resolution and clarity, ensuring sharp and vibrant visuals even at close distances. Ingeniously designed panels grow thinner as they approach a seamless 90º corner, enhancing both aesthetic appeal and visual continuity. This seamless corner is a testament to DetaiLED™’s
expertise, requiring precise calibration and alignment to maintain display integrity and quality across the bend. The result is a dynamic, immersive visual experience that envelops viewers, offering a level of engagement and impact that traditional flat displays cannot achieve.
7. Insight Stack
The vertical orientation of the display presented both challenges and opportunities, ultimately leading to a remarkable outcome. With a 1.2mm pixel pitch, the display achieves ultra-high definition, delivering crisp and clear
visuals even at close proximity. The four rotating panels were meticulously designed to move smoothly and seamlessly, allowing the display to adapt and transform for various content and visual effects. DetaiLED™’s engineering
team developed custom mechanisms to support the vertical movement and rotation of the panels, ensuring durability and precision for continuous operation without compromising performance. The display was also integrated
with sophisticated control software, enabling easy content management and the creation of dynamic, rotating visuals that engage and captivate viewers.
8. 88 Kearny
The lobby at 88 Kearny in San Francisco has been transformed into a dynamic digital art gallery through a collaborative effort led by Gensler, with DetaiLED™ providing and installing the LED displays. Originally a long, narrow corridor, the space now features 25 LED strips, each 23 feet tall, that fragment and recompose images as visitors move through the area, creating an interactive
experience. The content displayed on these screens is inspired by local culture, natural scenery, and seasonal changes, making each journey through the lobby unique. This innovative installation revitalizes the building’s aesthetic while serving as a significant draw for tech-oriented tenants, all while appealing to traditional corporate occupants.
9. 221 Main Street
The LED display outside 221 Main Street in San Francisco is a captivating installation designed by ESI Design, with DetaiLED™ providing the advanced LED technology. This 126-foot-long, 25-foot-wide display extends seamlessly from the building’s exterior into the lobby, creating a continuous visual experience. The display incorporates three different LED resolutions, provided by DetaiLED™, expertly integrated to form a cohesive ribbon of imagery that draws the eye from the street into the building.
Enhanced by etched diffusion glass, the installation spreads light evenly across its surface, creating a smooth and immersive visual effect. The content, which includes scenes inspired by the local environment, is designed to be viewed from multiple angles, making the display both a striking visual feature and a functional lighting surface. This installation not only modernizes the building’s facade but also establishes it as a key visual landmark in the area.
10. Hudson Yards
The LED display inside this office at Hudson Yards in New York is a cutting edge
digital installation designed to enhance the workplace experience. Working with Electrosonic, DetaiLED™ provided the LED for the centerpiece of this installation. The “Welcome Wall” is an interactive LED video wall with an
ultra-fine pixel pitch of 1.25mm, ensuring high-definition visuals. This wall, with its unique fanned shape, greets visitors with dynamic content that evolves throughout the day, highlighting the company’s global impact. The installation also includes a ceiling LED display that mimics a skylight and ambient LEDs integrated into a feature staircase, creating a cohesive and immersive environment that goes beyond traditional office aesthetics.
